The Morning After
Setting the scene:
Bright colours should adorn the breakfast table, pretty glasses of watermelon juice, the softest of background music and a little handwritten message with the lines from Dolly Parton “Forever is the love that is filled with understanding, forever is the love that is true and undemanding, forever is the love that can stand the test of time. Forever I am yours x”
For 2 lovers
Get on with it…
Take 1 bunch of asparagus, bend each stem at the point where the woody part snaps away from the tender part and add to a shallow pan of boiling salted water. Move the pan to one side of the flame to cook the stems more than the spears for 4-5 minutes depending on the thickness of the asparagus. It should be cooked al dente. Add 2 duck eggs to a pan of boiling water and boil for 4 minutes. Wrap each asparagus shaft with a small slice of smoked salmon and lay either side of an eggcup on a plate. Repeat with the remaining asparagus spears, put the cooked duck eggs in the cups and serve. Dribbling your yolk is essential, as someone will have to lick it up!
What stimulates desire…
It’s a fact that eggs definitely increase hormone levels and libido in both men and women. Eggs contain vitamin B12 they are key to healthy testosterone production – this we like a lot. The humble asparagus spear is a powerful aphrodisiac containing vitamin E which makes you gorgeous (Think healthy nails, skin and hair). In the words of the English herbalist Nicholas Culpepper “asparagus stirs up lust in man and women”
