This is the culinary adventure of two lovers, Wanda and Roqué, who meet by chance over a glass of champagne.
Within minutes their lives change for ever and Cupids Bow is in overdrive. Roqué and Wanda have two great passions in their lives – and one of them is food! The menu reads ‘lust at first bite’.
Let me introduce our lovers to you. Roqué is a partner in a flourishing wine importing business, Rogers and Son Wine Cellars, which he shares with his father, a venerable world wine expert. Roqué is 32 years of age, drives a Range Rover Sport for work and a classic Austin Healey 3000 for fun. Wanda is 28 and a successful creative director to a popular fashion house. Wanda’s folks have always enjoyed travelling and have developed a great love of international cuisine – which has for sure rubbed of on Wanda. She drives the Love Bug, an original pale pink (ah!) convertible VW Beetle.
Today Roqué is tasting a new vintage champagne with the Holmwood Park sommelier. He is dressed in a well tailored dark suit and a cream silk shirt open at the neck. At the bar is a beautiful girl sipping a drink with her back to Roqué. She is wearing a low back black dress, her favourite seamed red stockings and very kissable high heeled red shoes, finished with an oversized pair of dark framed Chloé glasses – a picture of pure innocent erotica! On the bar is a cascade of fresh lilies with their heady aroma pervading the air.
Roqué moves close to her and asks if she would help them choose the best champagne for Homewood Park. Here we go she muses another fuelled up over testosteroned guy chancing his luck. However the lure of a glass of fine champagne tempts her to turn around and she takes a sharp intake of breath. From the speaker nestled behind the giant palm in the corner of the bar comes the evocative tones of Roberta Flack singing the first time ever I saw your face.
She enjoys the champagne and is taken in with the excitement of the bubbles. My name is Roqué Rogers, “I’m very pleased to meet you”.” Well they call me Wanda, Wanda Fulking” she says. Yes please he giggles to himself.
Wanda and Roqué chat easily and it turns out to be Wanda’s birthday. She has arranged to meet a girlfriend who is taking them to her favourite Italian restaurant for lunch. At that moment her phone rings “Oh that’s so sad” Wanda says. The conversation is quick and to the point.
Wanda explains to Roqué that her friend has car problems and so can’t make lunch. Roqué moves in close and whispers “Well we can’t have a disappointed and hungry Birthday girl can we? So please Wanda may I be your lunch date today?”
They leave and head for the Trattoria Roma. As they cross the road Rocky takes her hand – she squeezes his back! This is pure chemistry. They settle in the restaurant with a bottle of Prosecco. They order a platter of antipasto, Veal Milanese and finish with home made Tiramisu.
As they sip their espresso coffee she looks at him and thinks ‘te amore Mr Roqué’
They laugh, chat and giggle like young lovers do and eventually she tells him that she is quite an accomplished cook and invites him to her home for supper later that week. “Fantastic, I’ll bring the wine, but how will I know where to find you?”. At that moment she gets up and disappears to the ladies room. When she returns she presses something into his jacket pocket. Written on her knickers is her address and phone number. “You’ll find me” she says dot dot dot
Before long they are sharing a beautiful cottage with delightful tropical gardens leading down to the river. In the belief that those who play together, stay together, they have turned their domain into a sensuous playground for candle lit dinners to romping on the kitchen table, to breakfast (if that’s what you want to call it) in a magnificent four poster bed to picnics under the palm trees by the river.
They love to plan seductive menus, go to the market shopping for the perfect ingredients, prepare the mis en place, enjoy the heat of the kitchen and finally the dish on the table. They love to create a really sexy candle lit room, fill the air with incense, perfume or floral essence. They enjoy food in a star burst of exciting and erotic scenes.
Come and touch the edible flowers with your lips, taste the ingredients, take the nose of the chosen wine, smell the hot bread straight from the oven, take time to listen and share their music and poetry – each treat so carefully chosen to stimulate and excite all the senses. Visualise the platter; get drawn into the seductive ambiance.
Edible Erotica is a book about food, wine, love and erotica for all those who share the same excitement (or will once they have read this!), come lets feed the passion.
Food is an entirely sensuous pleasure, erotic, provocative and lusty –
Let’s cook, eat, drink, make love and above everything else - have fun…
